Hello everyone,
It seems that life keeps getting busier and busier for us all. What is God is seeking to teach you in that? I know for Stacy and I it has been a very hectic month so far and I am so refreshed when I remember God's work in our lives and how he has been growing all of us closer together and closer to Him. Life doesn't get easier with that, but it relieves the anxiety and overwhelming aspect as I remind myself of the amazing God we worship.
This Friday we will be looking at Proverbs 8, verses 1 to 11. I have reduced the amount of questions to a manageable quantity, so I hope you all will have time to ponder them as you read over Proverbs 8 this week.
We will be meeting at Church, G 234 at 7 PM. Please come exhausted and worn out and ready to be refreshed by God's Truth and his Love that he continues to show all of us through our Love for each other.
Here are the questions:
Prov. 8:1 ¶ Does not wisdom call? Does not understanding raise her voice?
Prov. 8:2 On the heights beside the way, at the crossroads she takes her stand;
Prov. 8:3 beside the gates in front of the town, at the entrance of the portals she cries aloud:
From what 4 places is wisdom crying?
What progression or connection do you see between these places?
What occupies these places today?
Why do you suppose these places are chosen?
Prov. 8:4 “To you, O men, I call, and my cry is to the children of man.
To whom is wisdom calling?
What is the man’s role in teaching his wife wisdom?
What is the man’s role in teaching his children wisdom?
Prov. 8:5 O simple ones, learn prudence; O fools, learn sense.
What is a, “simple one?” What does prudence mean?
What is a fool? What does it mean to learn sense?
Prov. 8:6 Hear, for I will speak noble things, and from my lips will come what is right,
Prov. 8:7 for my mouth will utter truth; wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
Prov. 8:8 All the words of my mouth are righteous; there is nothing twisted or crooked in them.
Prov. 8:9 They are all straight to him who understands, and right to those who find knowledge.
In the previous 4 verses, try to list 15 things you learn about wisdom.
Prov. 8:10 Take my instruction instead of silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold,
What two things are we told to take in this verse?
What does it mean to take instruction?
How is this different than understanding or hearing instruction?
Where do we receive the Lord’s instruction?
How much time do we spend each day taking the Lord’s instruction?
How much time earning silver?
Is that a good balance?
What could you change to rebalance if necessary?
Prov. 8:11 for wisdom is better than jewels, and all that you may desire cannot compare with her.
Where do we get wisdom?
What are we instructed to do in order to receive this wisdom?
See you Friday,
Jacob
